Q. How does Make Me Brand New treat donations differently from the norm?

Unlike traditional thrift stores, Make Me Brand New supports fixing, mending and repairing items as well as going beyond the standard recycling them.

Whether looking to upcycle, refurbish, or make something new, we'll help you take a sustainable approach to crafting and creating that reduces the amount of waste common in these processes.

Q. How does Make Me Brand New contribute to sustainability?

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We rescue completely new items from overstocked stores and refurbish unwanted items, giving them a new life and keeping them out of landfills.
Any unsold items are given away to those in need or broken down for proper recycling and/or reuse. Through education and community engagement, we aim to empower individuals to make more sustainable choices in their daily lives.

Q. What types of donations does Make Me Brand New need the most?

Having started in 2023 being 100% volunteer run, we're still building up our operations and rely fully on our donors to help us grow. Outside of volunteering and monetary donations, we need widespread support for our recycling programs as well as donations that further them such as:

- recycling bins and locations to make our programs accessible to the public

- plastic containers, rolling bins and other items to help us sort donations

- scales of all types that would help us weigh the items we rescue to track our efforts

- cleaning products, sandpaper, paint, glue, tape, equipment and other things that help us sanitize, repair and customize donations for their next home

- unused or partially used gift cards to offer as rewards for our volunteers

- second hand or excess craft and party supplies help our communities get more creative while wasting less

- tablets that connect to wifi so our workshops use less paper

- large boxes and packing tape to ship items back to manufacturers for recycling
